A practical course providing strategies and tools to help dyslexic students succeed with confidence.

What others had to say?

”My son is buzzing! He’s loved working with Jamie and what a boost to his confidence 😊 He started to use the skills Jamie gave him straight away - even in an after school club the night of lesson one. He attends a drama club which he loves, but because of his dyslexia he found reading the scripts stressful in front of a class , he used the technology Jamie facilitated for him to make it instantly more accessible, my son is delighted… and so am I! Thank you Jamie.”

Danielle Keane

”I would highly recommend Jamie’s course for anyone struggling with dyslexia. His patience, expertise and personalised approach have already made a difference to my son’s learning approach and confidence.”

Kim Fancourt

”I found Jamie’s video on a Sunday morning scrolling on Instagram. I sent a message asking what the course involved and was met by a message back and a lengthy phone conversation later in the week. Jamie was very knowledgeable and understood the challenges dyslexic learners face first hand. The concerns I have for my son to achieve at an SQA level in school and the barriers faced by the Scottish exam system a one size fits all! I signed my son up for the course and spoke to him afterwards. He was not too keen but I explained how friendly and helpful Jamie was, that he was dyslexic and he agreed to give it a go! The 3 part course was fantastic and my son is now using new apps and technology in school to support him! The parent seminar with Jamie and his dad was a really informative session and hopefully all of the other parents of dyslexic children understand the barriers their child will face and how to overcome these. If you are reading this wondering do I sign my child up to Jamie’s course YES you should. Even if your child is exposed to one thing that will help and support them inside and outside of school then YES sign them up!"

About the Course

Our course is designed to give dyslexic students aged 11 to 16—secondary school age—the tools they need to thrive in school and life. Created by Jamie Briggs, a university student with dyslexia who’s turned his struggles into success, this three-part workshop series introduces proven, practical strategies tailored specifically for dyslexic learners. Students will discover how to learn more effectively, express themselves confidently, and use modern tech tools to level the playing field. Whether your child finds reading hard, avoids writing, or feels like school just doesn’t “fit” how they think—we’re here to help them change that narrative. Each session is engaging, interactive, and supported by short videos and hands-on activities. The course runs in small groups of up to six students, encouraging a relaxed and supportive environment. Parents are encouraged to join in and support their child’s progress every step of the way. The full course costs £99, with other options available—such as 1-to-1 sessions or a self-paced version without the workshops. You can explore these by clicking Find Courses.

Text to Brain

In this workshop, students learn how to absorb information through listening rather than traditional reading. They'll explore tools that read digital and printed text aloud, including built-in screen readers and mobile apps. By the end, they'll know how to turn any text—online or on paper—into spoken words, making reading easier, faster, and far less frustrating.

Brain to Text

This session focuses on helping students express their thoughts without the pressure of writing. They'll be introduced to speech-to-text tools, mind-mapping techniques, and structured speaking strategies. Through hands-on practice, they’ll learn how to turn their spoken ideas into written work confidently and clearly.

This session focuses on study techniques that work specifically for dyslexic learners, helping them revise, retain information, and stay organised. We also introduce AI tools that can be used to summarise content, clarify tricky concepts, and support learning across subjects.

My Story

Hi, I’m Jamie Briggs. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in Primary 1, and I know firsthand the challenges it can bring. With the right strategies and support, I turned those challenges into strengths—achieving A Band 1s in all 15 exams I took in secondary school, and now studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. I also tutored dozens of students in maths and physics every week, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Now, I’m looking to inspire and aid dyslexic students like myself. I’ve noticed a lack of information on effectively using tools and navigating the academic world as a dyslexic student. Over the years, I’ve been approached by many people curious about how I’ve managed it all—so I’ve created this course to share what I’ve learned and help others succeed.

It’s a three-part workshop series designed to help dyslexic students learn in smarter, more efficient ways. It introduces tools like screen readers, voice dictation, and AI to remove learning barriers and build confidence.

Jamie Briggs, a 19-year-old student with dyslexia who has gone on to succeed at school and university. After helping other students with similar challenges, he created this course to share what actually works in real life.

Do I need to do anything before the course begins?

Yes—before each workshop, there’ll be a short setup task (usually less than 20 minutes) to make sure you’re ready to get the most out of the session. This might include installing an app or testing a tool we’ll be using. To support you, you’ll also have access to the Support Toolbox—a collection of bite-sized demo videos and written instructions so everything is clear, simple, and ready to go.

What age group is the course suitable for?

It’s ideal for children aged 11–16, though older or younger students may still benefit depending on their level of independence.
