For younger students, this course is designed to be completed together with a parent or guardian. You'll learn the tools side-by-side so you can support their learning journey at home and school.
Older students and teenagers can take full control of their learning. The course is structured so they can work through the modules independently, building confidence and self-reliance.

They're not lazy. They're not slow. They just haven't found the right system — until now.
I'm dyslexic. And for a long time, I thought that meant I was always going to have to work harder than everyone else just to keep up.
I was diagnosed in Primary 1. Reading and writing were hard from the start — and for years, I just assumed that was how things would always be. I worked harder, took longer, and quietly worried that no matter how much effort I put in, I'd always be a step behind.
Then I started discovering tools. Digital tools — mostly on my phone and laptop — that didn't try to fix the way I read or write. They just worked with how my brain already works. Text-to-speech. Voice dictation. AI tools that could explain things in simpler language. Flashcard systems based on how memory actually functions.
When these tools clicked, it wasn't just useful — it was genuinely life-changing. I went on to get A Band 1s in all 15 exams in secondary school and I'm now studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. I'm not saying that to impress you — I'm saying it because I want you to understand what became possible once I had the right tools.
I've been tutoring dyslexic young people for a few years now, and every time I show a student these tools, I see the same thing happen. Something shifts. Things that felt impossible start to feel manageable.
I built this course because I couldn't find anyone teaching these tools together, in one place, in a way that made sense. This is the toolkit I wish someone had handed me years earlier — and now I want to share it with your child.
This isn't a list of tips. It's a structured, step-by-step course that teaches you to use the digital tools that work for dyslexic brains — the same ones Jamie uses every day.
Listen to anything — documents, PDFs, and more — using text-to-speech tools. Stop fighting through reading and start absorbing information the way your brain actually wants to.
Speak your ideas into text using voice dictation — no more struggling with typing, spelling, or losing your train of thought halfway through a sentence.
Use AI and flashcard tools to understand, remember, and recall information — for studying, projects, or learning things you care about.
Start the course at your own pace — no deadlines, no pressure.

“My son is buzzing! He’s loved working with Jamie and what a boost to his confidence 😊 He started to use the skills Jamie gave him straight away - even in an after school club the night of lesson one. He attends a drama club which he loves, but because of his dyslexia, he found reading the scripts stressful in front of a class , he used the technology Jamie facilitated for him to make it instantly more accessible, my son is delighted… and so am I! Thank you Jamie.”
“I found Jamie’s video on a Sunday morning scrolling on Instagram. I sent a message asking what the course involved and was met by a message back and a lengthy phone conversation later in the week. Jamie was very knowledgeable and understood the challenges dyslexic learners face first hand... If you are reading this wondering do I sign my child up to Jamie’s course YES you should. Even if your child is exposed to one thing that will help and support them inside and outside of school then YES sign them up!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The classes are amazing! I really love them — they’ve helped me so much with reading, writing, and studying. Jamie is brilliant — he’s young, easy to understand, and makes everything interesting and fun. The lessons are easy to follow and have really made a difference for me.”
“I was amazed and inspired to see what aids are other there to help assist my daughter with her education. Jamie has a lovely manner and my daughter was engaged with enthusiasm through her sessions . She has went from feeling embarrassed and stupid ( her words ) to knowing that’s not the case and it’s just finding your way of learning . This is what Jamie can help with by sharing his experience and how to overcome the normal way is not the path for everyone to help reach their potential.”
“Jamie was very nice and reassuring. The small group call was great we all got the support we needed. This course helped me regain my confidence and take charge of my learning. Before this course I was feeling like I was falling behind but I have some great new tools which I am already using everyday! Thanks Jamie”
“What a brilliant course. My son is age 13 and has dyslexia. He struggles with processing and retention. Jamie's course was delivered brillantly, he engaged well with my son (and the others on the course) the course was interactive and fun to help keep the learners engaged. Check ins were made throughout to ensure understanding. The flashcards creation we believe could be a game changer for our son. Looking forward to putting these into practice. 3 paragraphs, turned into bullet points and then flash cards all within 10 mins AND 11 facts learnt easily. I really think this could work wonders for our son! Thanks Jamie for your help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.”
Three workshops. Each one teaches a different set of tools that work together to transform how you read, write, and learn.
The skill: turning written text into something your brain can absorb — listening instead of reading.
Learn to listen to any document, PDF, or piece of printed text using text-to-speech tools. You'll get set up on your device, learn to scan physical pages with your phone camera, and work through how to listen to the document types you're most likely to encounter at school or at home.
Tools covered: Text-to-speech tools (mobile & computer)
The skill: getting ideas out of your head and into text using your voice — instead of fighting with typing and spelling.
Set up voice dictation on your device — with step-by-step instructions for every platform — and learn to speak your ideas directly into text. You'll get comfortable adding punctuation by voice, build confidence just speaking without stopping to correct yourself, and learn the Think → Scribble → Dictate method for turning rough notes into a well-structured piece of writing.
Tools covered: Voice dictation tools (built-in & pro)
The skill: using AI and memory tools to understand, remember, and recall information — for studying, projects, or learning things you care about.
Use AI and flashcard tools as a studying toolkit. You'll learn the Two-Bank Method for Active Recall, how to use AI to break down text you don't understand (and listen back to the explanation using text-to-speech), and how to use AI to improve your own writing without losing your voice — you stay in control.
Tools covered: AI & flashcard tools

No. The tools in this course are designed for young people who struggle with reading and writing — whether or not they have a formal diagnosis. If your child finds these things harder than they should, this course is for them.
The course works on any device with a browser — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Each workshop has step-by-step setup instructions for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac, and Chromebook. You don't need all of them — just whatever your child already uses.
All the tools recommended in the course are completely free. While some have options to upgrade, Jamie personally uses the free versions and finds them to be the best. He has tried many different tools and only recommends what actually works without any extra cost.
It's self-paced, so they go at their own speed. Each workshop has roughly 3–5 activities. Most students work through a workshop in one or two sessions. The full course typically takes a few weeks, but there's no time limit — they can dip in and out whenever suits them.
Jamie is dyslexic and uses every tool in this course himself. He's also worked through them with the young people he tutors. That said, every brain is different — if something isn't clicking for your child, Jamie's contact details are in the course and he's happy to help troubleshoot.
Yes. The course is fully mobile-friendly. Several of the activities are actually designed to be done on a phone or tablet — that's where tools like the camera-scan feature work best.

Private, flexible support tailored entirely to your child's specific goals and challenges.
Learn about Private Support →I built this course because I wished someone had handed me these tools when I was younger. Not because they fix dyslexia — they don't. But because they change what's possible.
Reading, writing, and studying are still hard for me. But they're manageable — and sometimes even enjoyable. That shift is what I want your child to experience.
If any part of this page has felt like it was written for your child, I think they'll get a lot from this course. Come and give it a try together.
